HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Feb. 26, 2025) – Redstone Federal Credit Union is asking the community to nominate outstanding people for its 2025 Community Champions awards.
Now in its third year, Community Champions recognizes those who dedicate their lives to doing good in their communities. Past winners have led organizations that helped veterans with PTSD, those experiencing homelessness, parents dealing with infant loss, and many others in need.
“The Community Champions initiative lets us highlight local heroes who are truly changing lives,” says Redstone’s President and CEO Joe Newberry. “We’re proud to share their inspiring stories and celebrate the wonderful work happening in our communities.”
Leo Robinson, who was a 2024 Community Champion and leads Second Chance Deliverance and Restoration Ministries, said the award was his “greatest honor.” He noted that it helped his organization grow, doubling donations and helping more people. As they celebrate their 20th anniversary, he hopes to keep building on this momentum.
Redstone will highlight the Champion’s work through a professionally produced video, on social media, and in its Aspire newsletter, among other media outlets. This exposure has helped past award winners gain more support and donations for their causes.
Community Champion nominations are open now and will be accepted until March 16. A judging panel will review the nominations, and the selected Community Champions will be honored at an awards ceremony later this year.
