Redstone’s Letters to Santa kicks off third year of helping children

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Redstone Federal Credit Union® is excited to announce the kick-off of its third annual Letters to Santa initiative that spreads Christmas cheer and donates money to children’s charities.

Each December, Redstone asks the communities where it serves to help brighten the lives of children and families by sending a letter to Santa. For every letter dropped in a special Redstone mailbox or emailed to Santa from redfcu.org/Santa, Redstone will donate $1 to local charities. Mailboxes are located at all Redstone branches.

This year’s campaign supports HEALS, Inc. in Alabama and the Child Advocacy Center of Rutherford and Cannon Counties in Tennessee. Total proceeds are equally distributed, up to $18,000.

“We enjoy giving back to the community. It’s who we are,’’ said Joe Newberry, Redstone’s President and CEO. “It’s great fun to help Santa get ready for the big night; while supporting charities that do so much to brighten the lives of children,’’ Newberry said.

HEALS, Inc. provides healthcare to children through on-site school clinics that provide primary health care, including dental and optometry services. The Child Advocacy Center is a non-profit that works as a multidisciplinary team to help children and their families find justice and heal from abuse.

Jennifer Linton, chief financial officer at HEALS, said their organization is honored to be selected by Redstone for the Letters to Santa campaign.

“Our staff is excited to share the magic of the holidays with our patients by having Redstone’s Santa mailboxes in our clinics. The funds received through this campaign will help us continue our mission of providing quality, accessible health care to the children in our community that need it most,’’ Linton said.

Sharon De Boer, executive director of the Child Advocacy Center, echoes those sentiments.

“During this holiday season, the Child Advocacy Center is grateful to Redstone for supporting crisis intervention services to child abuse victims through the Letters to Santa Campaign,” De Boer said.

The campaign continues through Dec. 24.
