(August 31, 2018) Redstone Federal Credit Union, one of the Southeast’s largest credit unions, has announced that William (Bill) Andrews has joined its Board of Directors, effective Aug. 31, 2018.
The appointment fills a vacancy left by the June resignation of Nancy Walker due to health reasons and prior to her passing in late August.
“We welcome Bill to the Board of Directors,’’ said Board President Dave Hargrove. “Bill is a dedicated champion of the military and civilian communities and holds strong to the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People,’ ’’ Mr. Hargrove said.
Mr. Andrews has been an active member of the credit union since 1985. He first began his volunteer board service in 2013 where he was appointed to Redstone’s Member Connections Committee. He currently serves as chair of the Supervisory Committee, member of the Asset Liability Committee, and member of the Information Technology Committee.
Background on William Andrews
Mr. Andrews joined SAIC, an international corporation, in 2016 as the Senior Strategic Planner after 32 years of federal service in a variety of acquisition, sustainment and program management leadership positions.
Previously, he served as the Deputy Executive Director of the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Logistics Center, where he was senior advisor to the AMCOM Commander and Deputy Commander for all logistics operations supporting Aviation and Missile weapon platforms. He was responsible for over 1,950 civilian and military personnel and managed a budget in excess of $3 billion annually.
He is a former board trustee for Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison AL, and currently serves as an advisor to the UAH Dean for Professional and Continuing Studies for the Army Senior Leadership advanced course.
